The AKC CGC assessment involves a range of activities that your dog must successfully complete in order to earn the prestigious title.

Certified as American Kennel Club (AKC) Evaluators, Ruff & Rumble Trainers provide testing and certifications for all AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) titles and AKC Trick Dog achievements.

Engaging in-person private sessions provides an opportunity for you to collaborate with the head K9 coach & trainer individually. Private sessions enable us to work at a pace that suits you, offering a unique setting for both you and your dog to learn together. These sessions allow for hands-on interaction to develop a tailored plan to help you achieve your training goals as a team (dog & owner).

Throughout these private sessions, you will acquire the knowledge on how to train, understand, bond, and build a relationship with your dog through confident leadership, trust, and clear communication. You will also learn how your lifestyle can affect your dog’s behavior.

Additionally, you will learn how to improve your handling skills, command reliability, and enhance focus & engagement from your dog around distractions in public settings.

Foundations & Basic On-Leash Obedience Package:

5 Sessions (1 Hour) - 1 Virtual and 4 In-Person. First session is a mandatory virtual call 2 weeks prior to in-person sessions starting.

8 Sessions (1 Hour)

This package covers everything in the foundation & basic on-leash obedience package, but includes more advanced obedience training. We will go more in depth on remote e-collar conditioning & how to build foundations for off-leash obedience.

This package includes 8 sessions along with any necessary tools such as leashes, training collars, treat pouch, continued support, Certificate of Completion, a *remote e-collar valued at $250, and access to purchase Additional Private Sessions in bundles of 5 sessions. Please note that the list of tools may vary based on individual dog needs and goals.

Certificate of Achievement awarded upon completion of Ruff & Rumble obedience exams

Up-to-date vaccination records are required (bordetella, rabies, and distemper/parvo (DHPP)) along with a fecal test done within the past year showing a clean (negative) result. Ensuring that all dogs have current vaccinations helps create a healthy environment for training sessions. Dogs must also be in good health and flea/tick free.
